Debra Harvey has served as the Director of Sawyer Nursery School since 2001. She meets all of the Director qualifications required by the Massachusetts Department of Early Childhood Education and Care (EEC). Debra began as a teacher at Sawyer in 1996 and became Director in 2001. She runs the music program for all four classes.
Gloria Hulse is teacher certified by the EEC. Gloria teaches the 2-day Puppy Group and the 3-day Panda Group. She is known as our “resident artist” due to her many creative abilities. In addition, Gloria is math oriented.
Jean Humphrey is teacher certified by the EEC. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Jean is talented in the areas of science and social studies. Jean teaches the 2-day Kitty Group and the 3-day Koala Group.
Sharon Petersen is Lead Teacher certified by the EEC. She also holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Sharon is strong in the areas of science and nature. Sharon teaches the 2-day Puppy Group and the 3-day Koala group.
Theresa Curley is teacher certified by the EEC. Theresa teaches the 2-day Kitty Group and the 3-Day Panda Group. In addition, Theresa is the Site Director for an after school program at the Mystic Valley Charter School in Malden. She is dedicated to Early Childhood Education and works to foster independence and creativity in her students.
